I purchased a towel last night. Nothing flash, it wasn’t expensive, in fact, I drove around to Kmart from Coles because the $10 towel at Coles was too expensive. I purchased a $5 towel. It’s purple, fluffy and is supposed to absorb all the water from my body after a shower. But my story is not about the towel…. Continue reading →
We LOVE cycling here at Riding Way and see it as much more than simply just owning a bike. It has been an obsession for as long as I remember so when I wrote my wife’s car off a few years ago, it was an easy decision to hand her the keys to mine and convert to pedal power for most of my journeys.
Riding more and more now, I find it great to track where I’ve been and how far I’m going. I know for a lot of people just ride for fun, as do I, but having the numbers is a great motivator to get out and riding more. Continue reading →
Sometimes a little bit of motivation is needed. A little bit of extra positivity. I like to surround myself with positive people because it breeds more positivity. Because of this, I’m super stoked right now and feel like I could achieve anything and this quick video is only adding to my buzz. Let’s get STOKED on being RADICAL. If you need some more internet time, watch this… Continue reading →
It’s the age old battle. Who owns the roads? Cars are bigger, faster and better right? They should get the ultimate say on the roads, right? But bicycles are cheaper, better for the environment, quieter, they should have the bigger voice, right? Below are a few videos of confrontation and well, my thoughts… What do you think? Leave Your Thoughts Below. Continue reading →
With the 2014 Track Attack BMX Race Series underway, we’ll be closing our doors at 4pm both Tuesday the 14th and Thursday the 16th of January. Come down and watch, racing starts at 7pm. (Knox BMX Track on Tuesday, and Eastfield BMX Track on Thursday.)
So a few weeks ago we hosted a BMX jam with the good crews from Focalpoint BMX, Colony BMX and Input BMX. Everyone had an absolute BLAST riding bikes and enjoying the Melbourne sunshine. FocalpointBMX put up 2 features on their website, and you can check a few more of Gorak’s images after the jump.
Ok, we’ve been getting asked the question a bit lately, when are we open over Christmas? Well, I think it goes without saying, we’re not open on any of the Public Holidays. After that, I think we might open for reduced hours. Have a look at when we’ll open.
Getting the famous chain ring tattoo on your leg is all well and good but when it’s full of sand, dirt and the disgusting black grease build up, it’s something we can all do with out. Through the winter, your chain and entire drive train gets covered in sand and road grime that dramatically reduces the life of all your gears. Keeping it clean and well lubricated is the key to adding trouble free years and kilometres to your trusty stead.
This is why we do this sort of thing here at Riding Way. Seeing the community grow and build an interest in riding bicycles is the greatest joy we know and the fact that in some small way, we are a part of this is marvellous. We were threatened by the weather man/lady that we would face a wall of water in the morning but when I was woken up by a toddler to the face, it was clear that yet again, the weather report had failed. Beautiful, clear blue skies were all I could see and so I knew we’d have a great ride. Continue reading →

The better weather has started to show it’s beautiful face even though I just heard we’ve had the wettest September in quite some years, but it’s time to drag out your trusty stead and get it repaired and serviced. Continue reading →
